Jane Austen & Singleness

I was recently talking to the woman who runs the book club at church, Kathleen, and she was retelling a conversation she had with another woman who was single and really not happy about being single. The woman asked Kathleen if she thought God had a man in mind for everyone and Kathleen responded, “No but I think Jane Austen does.” And the woman didn’t know who Jane Austen was. How sad to have never experienced “Pride & Prejudice” in any form.

And speaking of Jane Austen I have to point out that 5 weeks from today I will be visiting Bath where anybody who was anybody in a Jane Austen book visited so I guess now I could be someone in the eyes of Jane Austen.

All the best men were written by single women. Coincidence? I doubt it.
